The 2021 National Defense Authorization Act includes some benefits to small business federal contractors. Among them, the Act extends the 8(a) Program term, increases flexibility for small business past performance, and imposes a government-wide SDVOSB certification requirement.

President Trump gave federal contractors a Christmas surprise earlier today by vetoing the NDAA.

All hope is not lost. It’s possible—maybe even likely—that Congress can override the veto, as it was passed with overwhelming majorities. Still, the veto adds uncertainty to whether these important provisions will ultimately become law.
